I was in LA some months ago and the host of Afro Dicia on KPFK, DJ Nnamdi and his side kick wouldn’t stop talking about Veronica kitchen, that’s what you get if you send some Fufu and vegetable soup to a radio DJ, free Ad, so the magic of advisement got me and I went to Veronica’s Kitchen to try some of the Fufu that have been implanted into my subconscious no thanks to DJ Nnamdi. Well am glad to report that the Fufu with the vegetable soup lived up to expectation and the setting of the restaurant also lived up to its name, which is want you will get if you are in Lagos!

I took my boyfriend to Lagosia West African Cuisine in Berkeley, and I must say the ambiance was really superb, the service was exceptional and the food……need I say more, mouthwatering! This is the first African restaurant that I have been to (believe me I have been to a lot) that have succeeded incorporating a kind of Western style into a traditional Africa meal. Keep up the good work Lagosia. The only not so flattering part had nothing to do with the food, gosh, it was the parking! We had to park 4 blocks away from the restaurants, common Lagosia don't ruin a good thing.

I was really bored couple of weeks ago, so I decided to try something totally new, I went to an Ethiopian Restaurant. After scanning the web, (I mean wasoto.com) for a good one, I settled for Zeni in Saratoga, San Jose. The atmosphere was nice, food was okay, although the waiters didn’t help me a lot considering I knew nothing about Ethiopian food. Above all not bad, but one thing that really made my day was the organic honey based wine, that s#@t was the bomb. Try it.
